I was born in the Indian state of Assam but grew up in New Delhi, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, and Singapore. I am academically trained as a Cancer Biologist from one of the top medical schools of the world and have contributed in pushing the envelope of the field through my research findings. I am also a published author of scholarly materials in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics. I have also been a tireless fighter for gender equity, social justice, sustainable development, and the environment.
As a kid, I was raised with my 12 other cousins (almost the same age group) as we would all live as one BIG joint family and be served with incredibly delicious Indian dishes that would spice up our days and nights. I still have a liking for the spicy curries from back in the days but most of my meals are now replaced by Subway.
