BACKGROUND
I am Ohio born and Ohio bred…Go Bucks! I have lived all over the state but settled in Toledo after college. I graduated from a small high school in Marion with 83 people in my graduating class. I chose to go to the University of Toledo because it was as far as I could go without going out-of-state. I started as a science education major but organic chemistry told me that was not my calling so Communications it was. I met my husband at the end of my senior year and here we are. We have two daughters – a Junior at the University of Kentucky studying Animal Science preparing for Vet school (obviously she survived O Chem), and a Senior at Notre Dame Academy working on her dream to play college basketball.
CAREER HISTORY
As most recruiters, I didn’t grow up thinking this was what I was going to be. I have had a varied work life starting as a college recruiter, then selling M&Ms and Snickers, next as an Interior Design Assistant. After that I found recruiting. I have done high volume sales positions through high level corporate roles. One thing all of my experiences have in common is people. I enjoy meeting and speaking with new people with diverse backgrounds. I feel that is why recruiting has been such a great fit for me. I enjoy knowing that giving the right person in the right opportunity can change their life.
NICHE AND SUCCESS STORIES
For a chunk of my recruiting career I have worked with engineers, quality, technicians, sales & marketing, and pharmaceuticals. In my previous role, I worked with FCA and prior to that Clinical Research. I like searching for the Purple Squirrel. I utilize AIRS techniques to identify passive candidates and contact information.
ENDEVIS
Though it has only been a few weeks, I really enjoy the friendly people and the collaboration that takes place. I have worked for very large and very small companies and endevis seems to be just right. (Excuse the Goldilocks reference!) My role has already pushed me out of my comfort zone and allowed be grow and learn.
OUTSIDE OF WORK
We have always enjoyed spending time at our cottage in Michigan. We are avid water-skiers and all around “chill on the pontoon boat” people. We also enjoy camping as much as possible with the goal of hitting all 50 states. (We have 6 more to go!) After retiring and getting the kids out of the house, we would like to become trailer people fulltime, acting as camp hosts in the National Parks system. Isn’t that everyone’s dream? Work hard for 35-40 years then chuck it all and live in a box on wheels.
